About the book...

Bridge the Gap began several years ago during my own healing journey from pain to freedom. I was already a Christian, so I searched the shelves for something that would speak to me where I was. I found very little by way of Christian material for survivors of abuse. It was suggested to me that I start writing since I had that "nack" already as a poet. So, I did! I have held onto this manuscript for several years, too afraid to do anything with it until recently. God finally showed me His purpose for this book. It is to help you...

Bridge the Gap is comprised of four parts. In each part you will discover tid bits of knowledge about the healing process. I use lots of analogies, and easy to relate to and understand language. It's not a book that flies over your head with a lot of psychology, but psychology is deeply rooted in its pages! In other words, I needed to understand everything I read, and I needed it to be on my level. I wrote Bridge the Gap with that in mind. I think you will find everything between its covers easy to understand and relate to.

How did I come up with the title? Easy. As survivors, we need to build mental bridges over our troubled waters and heal from what we experienced. We need to walk over them and keep walking, leaving the pain and anguish behind us. This book also bridges the informational gap of Christian based material on healing - from another survivor. There are several books out there from pastors, counselors, etc. Books from Christian survivors to victims are few and far between!

At present, I am done with the manuscript and I'm having it edited by a precious friend who proofreads all my work. I have also included workbook pages at the end of each piece for you to keep a diary of sorts during your healing journey. I hope to publish this book in the next few months! It will be published by Xlibris Corp (www.xlibris.com) who also released my book, Life lesons in the presence of...Living Water (A Thirst Quenching Devotional) in January, 2007.

This blog will keep you up to date on happenings with the book's progress and ministry. I will add poems or excerpts here from time to time. Let me hear from you if you find this material helpful in any way! ***This book is not intended to replace counseling, but rather be a helpful tool in the process.

Do come again, and know that I pray for all who are victims of abuse. I know the difficulties you can have as a result, and I also know the victory that can take place over them through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!
